THE PROCESS OF FINDING MY STYLE : EP 1

STYLE IS A WAY OF SAYING WHO YOU ARE WITHOUT HAVING TO SPEAK

As usually am back with another post but this time around I really wanted to talk about my style.
Growing up, my parents weren't always the stylish type. I remember my mom always been the one to get us outfits even in our absence. That of course didn't bother me then because I was still a kid and I didn't care much about what I wore. But as I grew older, I started to dislike what my mom got. She would always buy shirts and dresses which is why I may have developed a kind of  trauma for skirts and sometimes dresses because that was all she ever got us. In fact as I am right now  I don't own even a single skirt and I don't think I have ever purchased any personally.

Things became worse after hitting puberty because obviously one becomes sensitive and more aware of themselves. One very funny memory that stuck was when I had feigned illness so I wouldn't go to church cause I didn't have the clothes I wanted and I didn't want my classmates to see me that way. Even when we'd  eventually go to church I and my sister would leave immediately the service was over so as not to run into any one we knew. Also, I remember using my mom's machine to sew different styles which didn't always come out nice. Even after spoiling my mom's machine due to my unprofessional use of it I remember I made my cuttings and took them to them to my mom's tailor telling them how I wanted it to turn out.

Then, I knew how I wanted to dress but just never found the clothes I always imagined which was why for my graduation I designed what I wanted for the tailor and that was eventually my first design I was really proud of. Now after coming to Uni i had a little fashion crisis at first which I am sure we all do. At first I tried dressing like every one but eventually I noticed that i just never felt confident in what I was wearing and that was when I decided to find my style. Okay loves I don't want this post to be long so I will stop her for now and bring the remaining story in another post. love you guys and take care. Also if you have similar memories or experiences don't forget to share them in the comment section. BYE
